Hello, I first began practicing yoga in 1991 on the gold coast, which was after the birth of my second child. Yoga soon became the one thing that helped centre a busy a life working as a Dental Therapist and having a young family.
My practice continued over the years with various teachers and styles and to this day i still enjoy learning from the practice. I also attend the odd yoga retreat to help deepen my practice.
In 2020, after many years of working in the health system I felt the urge to reinvent myself and try to help others enjoy some of the benifits yoga has to offer on so many different levels.
This lead me to embark on a Level 1 Teacher Traing program with ASMY group. Since then I have been teaching the odd community group class and am now looking forward to having a regular class with the YWH Team.
My style of teaching is intuitive and gentle with options offered for different levels and abilities in a practice.
Look forward to meeting you on the mat.

Yoga and Meditation came to my life as a Gift back in 2008 from a dear friend who thought that it would help me manage the stress my professional life was bringing me… She was right! However she would have never imagined back then that Yoga would change my life. After a couple of years practising Yoga asana, I decided in 2011 to study and complete a Level 1 Hatha Yoga Teaching Training Program, which then definitely was the catalyst for many changes in my life… Soon after completing this Training I decided to pause my highly demanding 10 year career and go travelling as a tool of self-discovery and as a way of living in a more conscious and giving way.
Since then, Yoga philosophy guides my way and I constantly aim to keep on learning and evolving with it. I am forever grateful for the Gift of Yoga and it is an honor and a privilege to be teaching with Yoga with Heart, and a blessing to be able to share the gift of yoga with others. Namaste,

Hi, my name is Lisa, born in Las Vegas, but moved to the Gold Coast at age 13.
After my high school years I studied Psychology for a short time, as well as Tai Chi and Meditation in my 20’s. I am currently a proud wife and mother of 2 beautiful Teenagers which keeps me somewhat busy.
After practicing yoga with Maryke for many years years, she one day asked if I was interested in doing teacher training with her and implied I would make a wonderful teacher. I was honored to be chosen after which followed a 2 year cadetship and have now completed a 350hr Teacher Training with Yoga with heart.
My intention as a teacher is to continue the traditional Raja Yoga Teachings which include not only the postures/asana’s but also include some of the ancient wisdom that has been passed down from guru to chela (teacher to disciple one on one).
Namaste,

Hi my name is Janette. After experiencing my first yoga
class in my late teens, I knew yoga was for me. Yoga centred and calmed my thoughts, released tension in my physical body and cleared held-in emotions which left me feeling refreshed and whole at the end of the class.
I continued attending yoga classes over many years which led me to a desire to pursue teaching some 19 years ago. My teacher training was with Swami Sarasvati Yoga Society and I like to continue learning by participating in yoga workshops and retreats. Since completing my Teacher Trainning I have taught private classes, at government educational institutions, Fernwood gym, healing and wellness centre, as well as facilitating some day workshops.
I am a registered level 2 yoga instructor with Yoga Australia. I also instruct Qi Gong and have been initiated as a Reiki Master. It is a great pleasure to be part of the back up team at "Yoga with Heart" of sincere, compassionate yoga instructors. Om Shanti,

I was first introduced to yoga as a teenager – a rite of passage growing up in the Northern Rivers, NSW. Yoga has always been there to “meet me wherever I was at”. So yoga has helped me to understand who I am, and who I am not.
Over the years, I have practiced several different types of yoga including Hatha, Restorative, Iyengar and aerial yoga but I wanted to develop a deeper understanding of this vast and ancient science.
I completed a 350 hours teacher training course with the Biomedical Institute of Yoga & Meditation in 2023. This training showed me the scientific evidence behind yoga practices but I also began to understand a little about the wisdom which lies beyond this. During 2023 , I also did some training at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, and have come to realize that yoga is a life long journey.
I am passionate about sharing the gifts of yoga with others and strive to promote accessibility. Moving our body in different and novel ways helps to deepen our connection to the more subtle qualities of the self. I also enjoy the Yoga philosophy which guides me to understand the mind which can help navigate the difficulties of life.
I have been an occupational therapist for many years now, and live with my partner and stumpy tail cattle dog. In my spare time I love pottering around in my native garden. Look forward to meeting you on the mat.
