" My name is Karen and I have been attending Maryke‘s classes at Burleigh North for approximately 3 years now. I have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and knew I needed to work on my personal and physical well being and let my specialists doctors do the rest.
I found my weekly practice with Maryke extremely positive, energetic, restorative and flexible. She also has helped me with my breathing techniques which is a big part of getting oxygen into my lungs.
Maryke always seeks feedback at the beginning of each class from her participants on areas they may be having issues with. She always addressed them during her classes to ensure their needs were being met in a safe way.
I find Maryke’s virtual classes just as good ( if not better for me and my medical situation) than her face to face ( which I loved as well) . I find the virtual classes convenient , I am able to continue my practice wherever I am at home or away I have been able to increase my practice from twice a week to 4 to 5 times a week.
My specialists have always encouraged me to continue with my yoga practice as it helps me breathing, emotionally and finding a better balance and calmness to deal with all that is thrown my way.
